Defense Manufacturing Technology Champion Award
The ManTech Champion Award was created in 2011 to recognize and honor individuals in government or the private sector who have made a significant contribution to the DoD Manufacturing Technology program.
The award's name derives from a keynote speaker at DMC several years ago, Ms. Sue Peyton, then the DUSD for Advanced Systems & Concepts, who started her remarks with "I am the Champion of ManTech." She was indeed our first OSD Champion, and remained a Champion of ManTech throughout her career. Ms. Peyton was presented with the inagural ManTech Champion Award in 2011, and we carry on the tradition in honor and appreciation of all who champion our cause.
The award is presented by the JDMTP on behalf of all of the ManTech programs of the Army, Navy, Air Force, DLA, MDA and OSD. Any individual who is a ‘champion’ of manufacturing technology is eligible to receive this award – someone who understands and supports the powerful impact of manufacturing technology on increasing warfighter capability, reducing cost, and improving performance. This individual is an ardent supporter and defender of the need to stay at the forefront of defense-essential manufacturing capability. With their support, they strive to ensure that our Nation’s warfighters are the beneficiaries of the best technology that industry can provide, and that we as a Department provide those technologies quickly and affordably.
The JDMTP is proud to annouce 2015's Champion award winner, Dr. Mike McGrath!
